HOW OLD IS THAT KITTEN?
Many people find kittens (or shall we say kittens find them?) that they end up adopting. But there is always the question - how old is that kitten? A good rule of thumb for the first four months is a pound per month of age. In other words, a kitten that weighs 2 pounds is usually approximately 8 weeks old.
A way to tell age on kittens between 4 and 6 months is by teeth. At 14-16 weeks the upper permanent incisors (the tiny little teeth in the very front) start erupting. At approximately 6 months of age the permanent canines (fang teeth) make their appearance.
